Corinne Mossati launches third ‘Grow it Eat it Drink it’ book

by Andy Young

Corinne Mossati has launched ‘Australian Native Edibles – Grow it Eat it Drink it’ third book in her series, aimed at helping home gardeners to grow, eat and drink plants from their garden.

The latest book, of more that 240 pages, includes over 130 colour photographs taken throughout the seasons in The Gourmantic Garden, and features 50 Australian native plants and a range of food and cocktail recipes.

Corinne said: “My aim through this book is to inspire you to grow Australian native edibles in your home garden, to source seeds and plants from First Nations businesses, and to use the unique flavours of these botanicals in everyday cooking and cocktails, regardless of the size of your garden.”

Corinne has spent over five years working on the book, learning about Australian native plants, growing different varieties in her garden and documenting how they work in cooking and cocktails.

The book comprises three key sections:

  1. Australian native botanicals
    1. Featuring easy-to-follow grow guide, details on the edible parts of the plants, storage suggestions plus food, cocktail and spirit pairings and ‘Tips and Tales from The Gourmantic Garden’.
  2. Food recipes
    1. 12 step-by-step easy recipes showcasing Australian native ingredients in a variety of sweet and savoury dishes.
  3. Cocktail recipes
    1. 12 easy to mix cocktail recipes featuring Australian native ingredients including non-alcoholic and low-alcohol variations plus a bonus cocktail recipe from Grow Your Own Cocktail Garden.

In addition the book features four appendices with practical resources that include how to smoke native seeds, how to deal with common garden pests and diseases organically, DIY organic sprays, digital resources and further reading.

The new book is available now through The Gourmantic Garden website.
