YCK Laneways Negroni Campari

YCK Laneways and Campari to extend Negroni Week

by Andy Young

Sydney’s YCK Laneways will transform into a Negroni showcase this September, with Campari expanding its annual Negroni Week initiative into a month-long celebration across the city’s nightlife precinct.

Traditionally held over one week in late September, Negroni Week is a global charity program founded by Imbibe and supported by Campari. Now in its 13th year, the initiative has inspired bars and restaurants worldwide to mix up the classic cocktail in support of good causes.

This year, Campari has partnered with YCK Laneways to extend the festivities across the full month of September, with venues throughout the precinct creating unique variations on the drink. Each participating bar will serve a classic Negroni alongside two bespoke interpretations, with a handful of venues also offering non-alcoholic alternatives.

Spanning the laneways between Town Hall and Wynyard, YCK is a collective of small bars, restaurants and creative spaces operating along York, Clarence and Kent Streets. The month-long program will feature performances, live music, Negroni masterclasses, immersive experiences, precinct tours and roving entertainment.

Participating venues include Burrow Bar, Esteban, Kahii, Button Bar, Kuro Bar and Dining, Lucille’s, Papa Gede’s Bar, Roast Republic, Since I Left You, Stitch Bar, The Barber Shop, The Duke of Clarence, Vina Bar, Jolene’s, Little National, Local Sauce Tours, PS40, Next Door Restaurant & Bar, Cash Only Diner and Uncle Ming’s.

YCK Laneways Vice President Karl Schlothauer said the activation would highlight both the precinct’s character and the enduring appeal of the cocktail.

“Whether you’re a Negroni purist or curious first timer, Negroni Month at YCK Laneways is a chance to showcase our precinct’s creativity, community and love of this classic. After all, there’s no Negroni without Campari,” he said.

The collaboration underscores Campari Australia’s ongoing support for Negroni Week, while giving Sydney’s bar community an extended platform to showcase innovation around one of the world’s most recognised cocktails.
