Women in Hospitality launches inaugural Industry Experience and Progress Survey

by Molly Nicholas

Women in Hospitality (WOHO) has launched a new survey for hospitality professionals, designed to help the not-for-profit organisation track the state of the hospitality industry and understand how safe, supported and equitable it truly is.

The inaugural WOHO Industry Experience and Progress Survey aims to capture the real experiences of those working in the hospitality industry and gather honest feedback through an anonymous platform.

Tara Sullivan, Chair of WOHO, says the survey is a significant step towards understanding and addressing the challenges faced by hospitality professionals.

“By giving a voice to those who work in the industry, we can identify areas that need improvement and work together to create a safer, more equitable environment for everyone,” Sullivan stated.

The survey touches on sensitive workplace experiences such as safety, harassment and discrimination, aiming to develop a comprehensive understanding of where the hospitality industry stands today and gather insights that will act as a tool for change.

The survey will play an important role in shaping a safer, more supportive industry with four key outcomes:

  • Highlighting areas for improvement: The survey will identify key issues and areas for improvement within the hospitality industry and workplaces.
  • Informing policy and practice: Data-driven insights gathered from the survey can be used to inform policy changes and industry best practices.
  • Empowering voices: The survey offers an anonymous platform to ensure as many hospitality professionals as possible have their voices and experiences heard.
  • Driving positive change: The survey will give industry leaders and stakeholders a better understanding of the real challenges faced by hospitality professionals and drive initiatives that foster a better working environment.

All hospitality professionals are invited to participate in the survey, which can be completed anonymously online.

Support and resources are also available here, whether you’re seeking guidance, someone to talk to or practical steps to take.
