Primo Sanchez Three Horses

Three Horses heads north for Día de los Muertos takeover at El Primo Sanchez

by Andy Young

This Sunday, Sydney’s El Primo Sanchez will mark Día de los Muertos with a special takeover from Melbourne’s Three Horses, the new cocktail bar from the team behind Caretaker’s Cottage.

Kicking off from 4:30pm on Sunday 2 November, the celebration will feature Teremana Tequila cocktails, tacos, tostadas and DJ sets from Dani, who’ll be on the decks from 6pm.

The Three Horses crew will be behind the bar for the night, serving up three exclusive cocktails at $25 each:

  • Margarita — with mandarin sherry and lime sorbet
  • Bungalow Ranch Style — with Rinquinquin, Fraise and jalapeño agave
  • Café Horchata — combining coconut water coffee, red shiso liqueur and condensed cream

Guests are encouraged to bring photos of loved ones to contribute to the venue’s ofrenda, honouring the Mexican tradition of remembering and celebrating those who’ve passed.

Bookings are available via the El Primo Sanchez website, though walk-ins are welcome for those keen to join the festivities.

When: Sunday 2 November, from 4:30pm
Where: El Primo Sanchez, Paddington, Sydney
