Tales of the Cocktail back in person for 2022

by Andy Young

The Tales of the Cocktail Foundation has announced that the 2022 conference, which is the 20-year anniversary of Tales of the Cocktail (TOTC), will return for an in-person celebration in New Orleans from July 25-29, 2022.

TOTC started as an annual walking tour in 2002, and since then has gone on to be the world’s leading cocktail conference attracting speakers and guests from all over the world.

To celebrate returning to an in-person event and its 20-year anniversary TOTC is promising an exceptional line-up of seminars, events and drinks all in the name of the official conference theme for 2022 ‘Progress’.

“This year’s Tales of the Cocktail theme, Progress, allows us to continue looking ahead while also taking a moment to reflect on how far we’ve come in the cocktail industry,” said Tales of the Cocktail Foundation CEO Eileen Wayner. “It’s in this spirit that we are so thrilled to celebrate the 20 year anniversary and unite together to celebrate the strides and transformations we’ve made as a beverage community.”

Inviting industry professionals and drink-lovers to convene in New Orleans this July, the TOTCF team is actively slating a host of programming, encouraging guests to sip, mingle, and toast to a communal appreciation of cocktails, all while enjoying the spirit of New Orleans. With hundreds of opportunities developed specifically for industry professionals from bartenders to distillers, TOTC is the drinks industry’s annual meeting place for exchanging new ideas, products, and techniques.

“It is our great honor to host the global cocktail community, who travel from near and far, to join us in our beloved city of New Orleans,” said Tales of the Cocktail Foundation Board Member Neal Bodenheimer. “Over the past few years, we’ve proven that we’re a spirited, resilient industry and most importantly, one that is willing to come together and help each other learn, grow, and hone our collective craft. We look forward to the progress that’s still to come in our community.”

For those who cannot travel to New Orleans, the conference will be supplemented with a host of digital education and networking opportunities. Additionally, in accordance with local and state guidelines, Tales of the Cocktail Foundation will comply with all recommended COVID-19 health and safety precautions.

Additionally, Tales of the Cocktail Foundation is resuming applications for the Cocktail Apprentice Program (CAP) Red Coat Class for the first time since 2019. Offering an exclusive mentorship program for up-and-coming bartenders to learn alongside some of the biggest names in the industry, interested CAP Red Coat participants are encouraged to apply here from January 3-January 31, 2022. More information on the return of this exciting program can be found via the TOTCF website

Full details on booking your place at TOTC 2022, are available on the conference website.
