Taittinger opens World Cup bars

by Andy Young

As the FIFA World Cup kicks off in Qatar, Champagne Taittinger and Emperor will host fan experiences at venues in Sydney and Melbourne.

Taittinger’s Brut Reserve FIFA World Cup 2022 Edition is the official champagne of the tournament and has been released in Australia.

It will be poured at the Champagne Bar at Sydney’s Sofitel Darling Harbour during the event and Melbourne’s Golden Fleece Hotel will host a special party for the Socceroos’ match on November 26.

The limited edition champagne’s grape varieties are Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunie with fragrant notes of peach, white flowers, brioche and vanilla bean.

The producer’s tasting notes include a body golden in colour with fine bubbles and discreet foam ‘making this lively, fresh and harmonious upon entry onto the palate.’

It is only available for purchase in Australia via Emperor Champagne and retails for $129.

The FIFA World Cup 2022 runs from November 20 to December 18 with Socceroos’ group matches on November 23, 26 and December 1.
