Last chance to showcase your riffing skills with Archie Rose

by Andy Young

Bartenders from across Australia have been invited by the team at Archie Rose to showcase their skills by creating a riff on a classic cocktail for the Rum Riff Cocktail Competition, with entries set to close on Monday, 17 March.

The competition rules are pretty straightforward – create a riff on a classic cocktail, using at least 30ml of Archie Rose White Cane, which is the latest addition to the Archie Rose Fundamental spirits range.

The only other stipulation to qualify for Rum Riff is that the White Cane cocktail will also need to be listed in your venue.Every venue that supports a team member’s entry by adding a new White Cane cocktail to their menu will receive:

  • A complimentary 700ml bottle of Archie Rose White Cane.
  • A complimentary 700ml bottle of Archie Rose Signature Range Spirits.
  • A set of Fiona-the-Galah cocktail mugs.
  • Tailored in-venue theming.

Archie Rose’s Nick Baxter said: “We want it to be that neighbourhood competition where you’re competing with the bars next door, the bar where you go to have a staffie after work.

“So, if we get a bunch of bars in one particular area of Melbourne or Sydney or wherever it might be, then we’ll have a comp just for those bars, and we’ll have another one on the other side of the river.”

Finalists will then go head-to-head with their neighbours, with each region hosting its own Rum Riff Final, where you could win a First Place prize package worth over $5000, including;

  • $500 cash.
  • Paid trade media interview and features.
  • 700mL bottle of Archie Rose White Cane.
  • ‘Fiona-the-Galah’ cocktail mug.
