Jack Daniel's 10 Years Old

Jack Daniel’s 10 Year Old ready to launch in Australia

by Andy Young

The first aged expression of Jack Daniel’s to be made available outside of the United States, will be available in Australia from next month.

Jack Daniel’s 10 Years Old has been crafted by Master Distiller, Chris Fletcher, and is the inaugural release for the Jack Daniel’s new Aged Series.

Chris said: “Bringing our first-ever aged stated whiskey to markets outside of the U.S. marks an exciting new chapter for Jack Daniel’s.

“Over the past decade, we’ve worked tirelessly to craft a whiskey that not only reflects the depth and character of our early releases, but also speaks to the global demand for premium and high-quality whiskey. This release is a tribute to our heritage, inspired by the past and crafted with the expertise of today.”

“Australia is home to some of our most passionate fans and the world’s most discerning whiskey drinkers. Jack Daniel’s 10 Years Old is the perfect whiskey for them, showcasing the true craftsmanship and quality that only Jack can offer.”

The whiskey features the ingredients and process as the Jack Daniel’s Old No. 7, with 80 per cent corn. 12 per cent malted barley and eight per cent rye, which filters through 10 feet of sugar maple charcoal before being barrelled.

The aging process for the whiskey sees the barrels begin on the upper floors of the Jack Daniel’s barrelhouse in Lynchburg, Tennessee, where the maturation process is more intense. The barrels are then slowly moved to the lower levels, which extends the aging process and deepens the flavour profile.

The tasting notes for 48.5 per cent ABV whiskey describe “a unique and intense character featuring notes of rich molasses, chocolate and spice, paired with a long, warm finish”.

Jack Daniel’s 10 Years Old will be available in a 700ml bottle from August.
