How to celebrate International Scotch Day

Today marks International Scotch Day and so it’s important to remember the main rule about drinking Scotch, and that is (outside of being responsible) there are no rules to drinking Scotch. Drink it how you like it, with ice, coke, soda, or straight up – it’s all good.

So to help you celebrate International Scotch Day, here’s a selection of Scotch cocktail recipes.

The Aberfeldy 12 Golden Dram

Ingredients:


  • 50ml Aberfeldy 12 Single Malt Whiskey
  • 2 barspoons of local honey *100g of honey syrup and 64g water, stir and leave to chill
  • 2 dashes of Angostura bitters
  • 2 dashes orange bitters

Directions:


  1. Add the honey syrup, bitters and Aberfeldy 12 to a mixing glass
  2. Add ice and stir to dilute (around 30 seconds)
  3. Pour into a rocks glass
  4. Add block ice
  5. Cut and curl an orange twist, expressing the zesty oils over the drink, then disca

The Honey Highball

Ingredients:


  • 50ml Aberfeldy 12-Year-Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky
  • 120ml Sweetened chilled chamomile tea*
  • 5ml Lemon juice
  • Garnish: Lemon slice

Directions:


  1. *Once tea is brewed, add 1tsp local honey and stir to dissolve before chilling
  2. Mixed all ingredients in a tall glass and serve
