House of Pocket launches ‘Connect Nights’

by Andy Young

House of Pocket has announced the launch of ‘Connect Nights’ a social initiative that will take place across all of the group’s venues every week and bring people together through good hospitality, conversation and other activities.

Karl Schlothauer, House of Pocket’s CEO, said the plan is to help people step away from their screen and rediscover real-world connections.

“The thing I love about going out is meeting new people and nights like this make it easy. Sometimes all you need is a game to break the ice.

“At its core, the night-time economy is about people. It is about connection, belonging and the simple joy of being out together. A state that works well after dark, supports mental health and social cohesion: it gives workers somewhere to unwind, families places to gather, and friends and neighbours reasons to meet.”

The idea behind Connect Nights draws on findings from the NSW Productivity & Equality Commission’s 2025 report, which highlights the crucial role the night-time economy plays in wellbeing and community life.

Connect Nights will take place at:

  • Monday: Stitch Bar (YCK Laneways): Start the week with a friendly or fierce game of Connect 4 in Stitch’s buzzing late-night setting. It’s the perfect low-pressure way to meet new people while enjoying signature cocktails and good vibes.
  • Monday: Pocket Bar (Terrigal): On the Central Coast, Mondays are for Monopoly. Gather friends (or make new ones) around the board for the Central Coast Monopoly game, celebrating local icons, streets and community.
  • Wednesday: Button Bar (YCK Laneways): Midweek, head to Button Bar for more Connect 4 battles, cheeky banter, and classic drinks, all in the moody warmth of one of Sydney’s most loved small bars.

Karl said Connect Nights will offer a fun, welcoming way to strengthen those connections whether through strategic Monopoly deals or a surprise comeback in Connect 4.
