Farmers Daughter Wine House

Farmer’s Daughters opens Wine House in Melbourne CBD

by Andy Young

The Renascence Group is expanding its Gippsland-led empire, unveiling Farmer’s Daughters Wine House – a new wine bar, bottle shop and private dining room opening Wednesday, 15 October 2025 at 71 Little Collins Street, in the 80 Collins Precinct.

Taking over the former Morena Melbourne site, the Wine House is just around the corner from the Farmer’s Daughters flagship venue and continues the brand’s signature farm-to-table ethos. Executive Chef Alejandro Saravia is leading the charge with a seasonal, produce-first menu designed to shine a light on Victoria.

“The menu is fresh and concise. We’re maintaining our strong farm-to-table approach and giving our artisans a place to shine,” says Saravia. Ingredients will include artisanal smallgoods and specialties from Craig Young Butchery, Oakwood Smallgoods, That’s Amore, Del Boccia Butter and Amber Creek Farm, served alongside seasonal snacks and share plates designed for easy wine pairing.

Sommelier Stephen Amman and the team have been quietly curating the Wine House cellar for three years, and now it’s ready to pour.

Guests can expect 20–25 wines by the glass, with a philosophy that starts local and expands outwards.

Stephen said: “Our approach is Gippsland first; if it’s not Gippsland, it’s Victorian; if it’s not Victorian, it’s Australian and yes, at the end of the day, we all want Champagne.”

The list highlights current favourites like William Downie, The Wine Farm (Anna and Neil Hawkins), Fleet (Justin and Lisa Jenkins), Entropy (Ryan Ponsford), and Tom & Rob Lightfoot, plus a dedicated section shaped with Gippsland and Victorian winemakers.

As Stephen explains: “We’ve curated this cellar for three years and now we’re sharing it by the glass at the bar or to take home. We’re also introducing a section shaped with our favourite Gippsland and Victorian winemakers: what these legends are drinking around the world, the bottles influencing and inspiring their work and ours.”

Or, as he puts it more simply: “Think of Wine House as the city’s cellar door to Gippsland.”
