Date and theme set for Tales of the Cocktail 2023

by Andy Young

The date and theme have been announced for the 21st Tales of the Cocktail conference (TOTC), which will once again head to New Orleans.

From July 23 to July 28, bar owners, managers and bartenders along with hundreds of other spirits and cocktails professionals will embrace the ‘Vitalise’ theme. The Tales team said ‘Vitalise’ will “encapsulate the hospitality community’s vibrancy and adaptability, and its unmatched kinetic energy that brings so much life to our shared experience”.

The team added: “TOTC invites all drink-enthusiasts to come together to exchange ideas, products, and techniques in a city that so deeply reveres the community’s common thread, the cocktail.

“This year, conference-goers can look forward to another stellar lineup of signature educational programming, Beyond the Bar activations, tastings, networking opportunities, awards programs, and so much more.”

This year the TOTC Foundation is again running its Apprentice Program, selecting bartenders from all over the world to be part of the new class of Cocktail Apprentices, a 2023 CAP Red Coat.

The exclusive mentorship program will welcome 40 new Apprentices to join the 2023 CAP Red Coat class and learn alongside some of the industry’s biggest names during this year’s TOTC conference. The application period will be open from January 4-February 5, 2023. You can apply to be part of the program here.

The TOTC Foundation also has a grant-giving program, which is now open and is focused on bartender welfare and well-being, including areas such as equity, advocacy, healthcare, mental health, education, workplace inclusivity & safety, and more. You can find out more, and apply, here.
