Up your Champagne game

by Stefanie Collins

The Champagne Bureau Australia will kick off spring with a series of Champagne masterclasses across the country.

The Bureau said the masterclasses, to be held between 14 September and 26 October, will provide a forum for Champagne enthusiasts to taste and discuss a selection of non-vintage, vintage and other unique styles of Champagne wines.

The classes will provide an educational platform whereby people can taste and learn about different styles of Champagne, including a tasting of Champagne with canapés to match.

Classes will be presented by winners of the Vin de Champagne Award, which is organised by the Champagne Bureau Australia with the aim of finding those who have the best Champagne knowledge and appreciation in the country.

The first trade tasting will be held at Doltone House in Sydney on 14 September from 6.30pm until 8pm, presented by Huon Hooke and Peter Bourne. Events in Perth, Brisbane, Melbourne and Adelaide will follow.

All classes are $85 plus booking fee, with tickets available here.

The Sydney Trade Tasting, which will also be held at Doltone House on 14 September, is open to media and trade by invitation from the Champagne Bureau, Australia.

For more information, contact the Champagne Bureau, Australia, at (02) 9555 8891 or visit www.champagne.com.au.

Representing the Comité Champagne (CIVC), the Champagne Bureau’s main role in Australia is to educate trade and consumers on Champagne wines, along with promoting and protecting the world-famous Champagne appellation.
