Mr Lyan to launch Seed Library New York this Autumn

The world’s most awarded bartender, Ryan Chetiyawardana – aka Mr Lyan – will open his first permanent New York venue this Autumn.

Seed Library New York is set to launch on the lower ground floor of Hotel Park Ave in Nomad, with a dedicated entrance offering an intimate retreat from the city.

The project marks a partnership between Ryan, Lore Group, and Renwick Hospitality, and extends the ethos of the original Seed Library in Shoreditch, London. The new venue seeks to balance unpretentious creativity with New York’s deep cocktail heritage, presenting what the team describes as a reimagining of the classic Manhattan bar.

Chetiyawardana and his Lyan team are renowned globally for their pioneering approach to sustainability and flavour. At Seed Library New York, guests can expect a curated drinks program of reworked classics and original serves, underpinned by low-intervention wines, artisanal spirits, craft beers and saké. A concise food offering, developed with Renwick Hospitality, will reflect the same philosophy of simplicity and thoughtful expression.

The design, led by Lore Group Creative Director Jacu Strauss in partnership with RD Studio, incorporates organic textures and natural materials to create an understated yet elegant space aligned with the bar’s philosophy of embracing nature’s variance.

Service will be led by experienced New York professionals alongside familiar members of the Lyan portfolio, ensuring the blend of hospitality and innovation that has defined the brand’s venues in London, Washington DC and Amsterdam.

By combining New York’s storied bar culture with the forward-looking sensibility of the Lyan group, Seed Library New York aims to establish itself as a new neighbourhood classic – approachable, creative, and globally relevant.
