The Everleigh cocktail express

The Everleigh’s unforgettable journey for NYE

by Andy Young

The Everleigh in Melbourne is promising an unforgettable journey through 1920s Europe this New Year’s Eve with an immersive and luxurious cocktail experience, inspired by the iconic Orient Express.

The Everleigh Express will take guests on a one-way journey with drinks inspired by the beautiful cities along the Orient Express’ original route.

From Paris’ French 125 (a blend of pommeau de Normandie, lemon, and sparkling wine) to Bucharest’s Spiked Socată (a mix of gin, elderflower, lemon, and soda), the experience offers a taste of diverse destinations.

In true first-class railway fashion, a travelling cocktail cart will deliver refreshments straight to each table, and at every stop, guests will choose between two carefully crafted cocktails based on their preferences.

“The Everleigh-Express isn’t just about celebrating the new year- it’s about celebrating the journey that cocktails can take you on” says The Everleigh’s Co-founder, Zara Madrusan.

“This is the magic of the classics for us, they all come complete with extravagant and entertaining tales of people and places around the world. Designing a unique menu of cocktails to accompany the European cities on this journey has been such fun for Michael and I.”

Departing at 8 PM from Fitzroy’s Gertrude Street, the experience includes a welcome cocktail on arrival, three curated cocktails inspired by European cities, oysters, cheese and charcuterie, a selection of cold and hot canapés, and a glass of sparkling wine at midnight.

Guests are encouraged to embrace the theme with 1920s-inspired glamour.

The Everleigh-Express is a seated table-service event from 8PM to 12AM, with more information available through The Everleigh website.
