Andrea Gualdi joins Merivale

Maybe Sammy co-founder and former creative director Andrea Gualdi has joined Merivale as the new group beverage manager. Bringing a wealth of experience developing award-winning beverage programs, Andrea will be responsible for enhancing Merivale’s beverage offering across its 90+ venues.

Andrea shared his excitement about the role, saying: “Merivale’s commitment to pushing the boundaries in hospitality aligns perfectly with my own passion for creating unique and memorable drinks. I look forward to working with the talented teams at Merivale to create a beverage offering that rivals the world’s best.”

Prior to joining Merivale, Andrea led the Maybe Sammy group’s creative direction, and later oversaw the food and beverage offering across Ovolo Hotel’s Australian properties.

In his new role, Andrea will develop and execute Merivale’s beverage strategies across its diverse portfolio which includes restaurants, bars, nightclub and event spaces.

Andrea joins James Irvine, Merivale’s new group creative cocktail lead, who is developing an innovative approach to drinks.

“I’m eager to collaborate with the team on unique and innovative experiences, focusing on thinking outside the box when it comes to delivering those drinks to our guests and creating memorable experiences,” added Andrea.

“These menus reflect the identity of each venue, blending experimentation and craftmanship resulting in a world class cocktail program across the group.”

Franck Moreau MS, group general manager of beverage at Merivale, spoke about the appointment.

“We’re thrilled to have Andrea join our growing team of top beverage talent. His deep knowledge of the industry and incredible expertise will allow us to continue to innovate and create the very best experiences for our guests.”
