Cocktail Menu: Brisbane Brown Snake Sunset

The Brisbane Brown Snake Sunset was created by Edward Quartermass for Brisbane’s Death and Taxes Bar, showcasing the essence of vodka in collaboration with Idle Hour Vodka for World Vodka Day.

The cocktail features toasted coconut-washed Idle Hour Vodka, which can be created using 100g of toasted coconut per bottle by vacuum sealing and infusing, before frying to solidify fats and strain off.

“Brisbane is a city where most activity follows the river, we all want to be near it or looking at it whilst having a bevvy in the arvo if we can’t be on the coast. This cocktail celebrates those seasonal Brisbane afternoons, linking the rye based Idle Hour Vodka with the heightened tropical notes that are synonymous with life in Queensland,” Edward commented.

Brisbane Brown Snake Sunset

Ingredients:


  • 45ml toasted coconut-washed Idle Hour Vodka
  • 10ml vanilla liqueur
  • 5ml Campari
  • 120ml fluffy orange juice (freshly juiced on centrifugal juicer for foaminess)

Directions:


  1. Build all ingredients in a highball glass topped with ice
  2. Garnish with a mint sprig and fancy fruit
