Mr Black is leading an Aussie liqueur renaissance

by Andy Young

If you are interested in the drinks industry, chances are you have noticed the rise of locally made liqueurs featuring Australia’s native ingredients and favourite flavours.Leading the charge are Mr Black roasters & distillers, who have seized on the fact that Australia’s obsession with coffee is at an all-time high. Their clean combination of cold brew coffee, Australian wheat vodka, and a touch of sugar is taking local drinkers by storm.

Mr Black is expertly made with ten times the coffee and half the sugar of ‘old-world’ liqueurs, meaning it’s bold, balanced and unapologetically coffee. Since launching in 2014, every bottle of Mr Black has been crafted from bean to bottle an hour north of Sydney on the Central Coast.

A focus on the highest quality ingredients, and local production has quickly established the brand as the go-to coffee liqueur for professional bartenders and at-home enthusiasts alike. Try an incredibly simple Espresso Martini (2 parts Mr Black to 1 part fresh coffee), or use Mr Black in a coffee twist on your favourite cocktail – Coffee Negroni anyone?

Mr Black Coffee Liqueur is available nationally in its distinctive 700ml bottle, with a 500ml version and new 200ml flask available to retail customers. For more information, please contact your local SouthTrade Sales Representative.
