Sydney bar Kittyhawk introduces $250 twist on the Old Fashioned

by pwootton

Sydney rum and rye bar Kittyhawk has unveiled what’s believed to be Australia’s most expensive Old Fashioned cocktail, The No.10 Rum and Rye Old Fashioned. At $250 a serve, the new rum and rye twist blends Michter’s Rye 25 year old and Bacardi Facundo Eximo Rum.

“The Old Fashioned is one of the better known classics, but at KittyHawk, we’ve introduced a list of 10 new and interesting variations,” said Jared Merlino, managing director of Kittyhawk. “The No.10 rum and rye Old Fashioned has spirits that are extremely rare; Michter’s Rye 25 year old and Bacardi Facundo Eximo Rum. The sweetness of the rum and woody-ness and peppery flavour from aged rye whisky creates something absolutely delicious.”

Kittyhawk is located at 16 Phillip Lane, Sydney 2000.
