First speakers for 2023 Pub Leaders Summit announced

by Vanessa Cavasinni

The first lot of speakers for the 2023 Pub Leaders Summit have been announced, and includes some industry heavy-hitters.

This year’s Pub Leaders Summit – produced by Australian Hotelier – will be held at Eatons Hill Hotel in Brisbane, on 24-25 July.

The first speakers to take part in the program can now be confirmed, including such esteemed operators as Paul Walton, interim managing director of ALH Hotels. Walton will take part in discussions on economic conditions and staffing strategy.

Other big names include Rob Comiskey, director of Comiskey Group, which owns and operates the Summit’s location this year, Eatons Hill Hotel. Comiskey will discuss both F&B and entertainment – two streams of operations that Comiskey Group is well known for.

Marianne Mewett, CXO of Australian Venue Co., will be taking part in the conference, discussing data and loyalty management. Mewett has a wealth of experience in the topic, having developed AVC’s The Pass app, which has successfully been integrated into all AVC venues across Australia.

Bernie Hogan, CEO of Queensland Hotels Association, will take part on a panel on gaming and wagering, while Nicola Palmer, owner and executive chef of the multiple-award-winning Watervale Hotel in South Australia will discuss her F&B and sustainability philosophies. James Phillips of CGA Strategy will present on trends to be found within local and global on-premise data. And as he has done for the last couple of years, Luke Butler, MD of Hastings People will emcee the event and provide his own insights from a wealth of industry experience.

There are still many more speakers to be announced, so keep an eye out in Australian Hotelier and on the Pub Leaders Summit website for more updates. As part of the Summit, Australian Hotelier is also hosting an optional half-day pub tour on Tuesday 25 July, visiting some of greater Brisbane’s most exciting and dynamic pubs.
