Bar Allora Maybe Group

The Maybe Group opens all-day Italian bar and restaurant

by Andy Young

The Maybe Group and Table For – the new in-house food and beverage group from Accor – have launched the first venue of their collaboration with all-day Italian bar and restaurant, Bar Allora, opening its doors at Mantra 2 Bond Street.

The bar is inspired by the rhythm of Milan, described as being fast-paced in the morning, social and sultry by night. Bar Allora has been designed to capture the soul of Italian style and flavour, where guests can stop for a quick espresso, linger over a Negroni or Martini, or settle in for a vibrant dining experience.

Vince Lombardo, Co-Founder and Director of The Maybe Group, said: “Ten years on from opening Maybe Frank, we wanted to return to our roots with a true Italian experience.

“Bar Allora captures the energy, culture and connection at the heart of Italian hospitality, authentic flavours delivered with a joyful, modern twist. Every detail has been designed to feel vibrant, welcoming and unmistakably Italian.”

The food has been crafted by Chef Rosy Scatigna, Table For’s Culinary Director, and Head Chef Josh Donachie (Jane, Jackson’s on George, RE). The menu changes through the day with cornetti and paninis from the counter in the morning. Lunch brings vibrant plates like spaghettone with anchovy butter and lemon pangrattato, or wagyu tagliata with rocket salsa verde.

The evening brings the food and cocktails together, with small plates like stuffed eggplant fritti, rosetta alla mortadella and baked ricotta paired with aperitivo classics like the Americaniello or the Allora Negroni.

“For me, Italian cooking is about contrast, elegance and comfort, sophistication and soul,” Chef Scatigna said.

“We’ve taken those foundations and given them a modern rhythm – food that feels both familiar and new.”

Bar Allora’s cocktail list celebrates the art of the aperitivo with like the aforementioned Americaniello (Campari, Oscar Rosso Vermouth, lemon myrtle liqueur, mango soda water) and the Allora Negroni (Gin, Campari, Oloroso Sherry, Pandan, Pineapple).

“We’re thrilled to launch Bar Allora in partnership with The Maybe Group,” says Ben Creek, Head of Table For. “This collaboration represents the future of Table For – visionary hospitality partners creating culturally relevant, beautifully executed, guest-led experiences. Bar Allora is just the beginning.”

Bar Allora leads a wave of new Table For openings this summer – including El Vista at Pullman Quay Grand Sydney Harbour, a Latin-inspired bar inspired by 1960s Acapulco, and Flaminia, a harbourside Italian restaurant from Giovanni Pilu and Marilyn Annecchini (Pilu at Freshwater).
